RULES OF BUSINESS OF THE MEETING OF THE GENERAL BODY
- A general body meeting can be called by President
- Simple majority of the executive council. A requisition has to be passed in writing
- One fourth of the ordinary members. A requisition has to be passed in writing.
- In case the President refuse to direct calling of the meeting or meeting is not called within the prescribed period, the requisitions can call the meeting themselves.
- The meeting of the General Body shall be chaired by the President. In case of his absence by the Vice President. In case of the absence of both, any member in the quorum as decided by the general body.
- For a meeting of the General Body normally a notice of 15 days shall be given.
- At least ten days before the meeting, the Secretary shall with the permission of the President circulate among the members through internal dak the agenda for the meeting and supplementary agenda may be issued by the Secretary in the same manner at least four days before the meeting.
- The Secretary with the permission of the Chairman propose for consideration an item under current work. For this a previous notice to the members will not be necessary.
- All items in clause 5 and 6 above may be taken up in any order deemed fit by the chairman.
- If a member so desires, may person in writing the consideration of any item in a meeting at a notice of at least seven days before the meeting and sent proposal to the Secretary. The secretary may include the item in the agenda with the approval of the President provided it is otherwise admissible.
- The quorum for the meting shall be 40 percent of the total ordinary members, fraction being taken as one.
- Every motion (proposal) or amendment there on shall be prepared in writing and read out by the mover and delivered to the secretary.
- Each motion or amendment shall be dully seconded.
- Any motion or amendment which is not seconded shall be dropped.
- The President / Chairman shall control the order in which members may address the meeting.
- Members when speaking shall sand and shall address the chair. No member shall without the permission of the President / Chairman shall spell more than once to any proposition.
- The President / Chairman shall decide the manner in which the business shall be conducted.
- No members shall address the meeting after the Chairman has called for a vote.
- When there is an amendment on a motion it shall be first put to vote. If the amendment is not carried the original motion shall be put to vote.
- On putting any question to the vote, the Chairman shall call for a show of
hand for affirmative of negative and declare the result.
- The President / Chairman shall conduct secret ballot if the funeral body may decide to adopt absecrwt ballot.
- A member may request the president for the division of votes.
- These rules may be added, changed or modified by the General Body by simple majority vote.
- Member will observe civility in addressing themselves to the house at all times. They shall refrain from making personal remarks particularly.
- Members will attempt as far as possible to restrict themselves to the issue under debate and will put forward their point of view C gently and responsibly as beloves that intellectual status.
RULES OF BUSINESS OF THE MEETING OF THE GENERAL BODY
- When 25% of the ordinary members apply in written to the President for calling a meeting of the General body, the President shall in writing direct the Secretary to issue a notice of the meeting given fifteen days notice.
- In case the notice is not issued by the secretary within 10 days of the issuing of the notice to the secretary by the president, the President may cause a notice for meeting to be issue as may deemed fit by him / her.
- In case the president does not, within 10 days of the receipt of notice, from 25% members, issues instruction to the secretary, the members may circulate a notice for the meeting giving 15 days notice. Provided for such a meeting the quorum shall be 50.
- At least three weeks before the issuance of a notice of a general body meeting, a member may submit in writing an item for consideration of the general body. The secretary may with the permission of the President include such items in the agenda.
